Gainsborough Stroke Group

The Gainsborough Stroke Group meets the third Wednesday of each month at Whitton's Mill, Bridge Street, Gainsborough.
From 10:30am - 12:00pm
Admission is #1 each to cover costs.

The group is open to anyone affected by stroke, Stroke Survivors, Family, Carers.

However May's (17th May) meeting is a Sip for Stroke event open to all, free entry, enjoy a cuppa, a cake and a chat, donations to the Stroke Association gratefully accepted.

Inside the Poppy Head

I like to come here occasionally.
It's a peaceful, restful place, here I am almost completely pain free.
Here I feel the earth turning and flying through space.

Here I am automatically in a state of meditation.
Here I can hear The Universe speak.

The darkness and stillness here is not depression, it is liberation.

Here is energy, here is love, here is unity.

I can't visit too often, for that would make it less special.
This is a place to visit occasionally, this is a place to savour.

My Obituary

I have decided that when my time comes at the age of 99.
No matter how I go.

I want my obituary to read that "I was electrocuted, when I touched the live terminal at the centre of time."

Straight Razor Update

I am continuing to learn the art of straight razor shaving.
A bit of a baptism of fire, or blood anyway!
Quite a few nicks and cuts, but I am getting better.

I have bought a second razor, my first cheapo Sandbros stainless is difficult to get a good edge on, but I'm getting there with it now.

My second razor is a professionally prepared Gold Dollar carbon steel blade, excellent edge and easy to maintain.

I still use my modern 5 blader when time is tight but I'm sold on straight razor shaving!
